In June 2024 Littleport Band performed at Ely Cathedral which to be honest wasn't unusual however on this particular evening it was something special, we were delighted to have as our guest soloist the world renowned trumpet virtuoso MIKE LOVATT. A superb experience supporting this fantastic musician in the gorgeous setting of Ely Cathedral.

"Recently I had the great pleasure of travelling to the wonderful Ely Cathedral to perform a solo concert with the Littleport Band ! On a beautiful June evening ,the concert formed part of the Ely festival and had been something I was looking forward to for a long time. The sun shone through the stained glass windows into the amazing space of the spiritual cathedral creating the perfect setting. The players in Littleport band showed their versatility in the stylistically varied programme. The finale of the Saint Saens organ symphony and Jimmy Webb’s MacArthur Park proved that Littleport have the ability to raise the roof as well as play a beautiful ballad such as Pure Imagination with a warm sound displaying their sensitivity and feeling in music.
